BY SUBMITTING ANY WORK TO DARK FUTURES LITERATURE LLC, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DIRECT THEM TO EDITOR (AT) DARKFUTURESFICTION.NET BEFORE SUBMITTING ANY WORK.
It is currently the policy of Dark Futures to be open to submissions at all times. Because of this, it may take several months before we respond to your submission. We do not believe in silent rejections. One way or the other, you will eventually get a response.
We accept submissions of previously unpublished material as well as reprints. In our selection, content is given preference over publishing status. For our purposes, any work which has been posted or otherwise made publicly or easily available is considered to have been previously published. This includes blogs, social media sites (including, but not limited to, Facebook and Twitter), and artistic sites (including, but not limited to, Deviant Art and any writer’s community site with open membership).
We accept submissions which are currently under consideration elsewhere. If you submit any material which is currently under consideration elsewhere, we appreciate (but do not absolutely require) being informed of that in your cover letter.
If you need to withdraw a submission for any reason, or to inform us of a change in the status of a submission, let us know by sending an e-mail to submissions (at) darkfuturesfiction.net. We check regularly for these messages and will make note of changes immediately.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are primarily interested in flash and short science fiction stories for inclusion in Phase 2 magazine. We prefer stories with some form of dark or cynical themes. We love cyberpunk, grimdark (of the sci-fi variety, futuristic dystopian, and post apocalyptic stories. Space opera and other forms of science fiction are also welcome and some element of darkness, such as a powerful villain character (think Darth Vader) will increase their chance of acceptance.
Reviews of books, movies, comics, or other media are also welcome to be submitted, though we will not pay for rights to these. Accepted reviews will be published to our website.
Poetry will be considered but is unlikely to be accepted.
At some time in the future, we may seek different types of submissions for themed anthologies or other publications. If that should occur, announcements will be made well in advance and through multiple outlets.

After that, wait for a response. As stated above, it may take us quite some time for us to get to your submission but you will hear from us.
